The book title might have already given it away: this book is about writing domain-specific languages (DSLs) in Kotlin. It was born out of curiosity and frustration – the curiosity to explore the language’s expressiveness while pushing its boundaries, and the frustration of finding few resources beyond common examples. At some point, I realized that I gathered more material on my hard drive than I had ever seen in a single book on the topic. I don’t mean to suggest that this book wrote itself, but, in a sense, I only had to arrange the parts and _ill in some gaps. I found that writing a book can be very rewarding when you really care about the topic. If you share my curiosity – or perhaps my frustration – this book is for you, and I’m glad to have you on board.
