Oral diseases, such as caries and periodontal diseases (gingivitis and periodontitis), are among the most prevalent diseases in the population despite being highly preventable. The prevention of these diseases is of great importance in general population, but, considering possible complications, it is particularly important in patients with bleeding disorders. Preventive measures should be taken at an early age and should include early preventive dental visits, motivation and training on proper oral hygiene, and pit and fissure sealing. Prevention of oral diseases and plaque control through regular checkups and dental hygiene should be performed during the whole life by using the proper toothbrushing technique with appropriate toothbrushes and fluoride toothpastes, antibacterial mouthwash solutions, dental _loss, interdental brushes, and water jet devices. Regular dental checkups and periodic removal of soft and hard deposits from the teeth are of utmost importance. Removing deposits from the teeth not only prevents the onset of caries lesions and gum diseases but also reduces gingival inflammation, thus preventing gingival bleeding. The results of some studies indicate a higher incidence of caries and periodontal diseases in patients with bleeding disorders, which is mainly related to the fear of bleeding during toothbrushing or dental anxiety in these patients [1]. Dental management of patients with bleeding disorders primarily involves the prevention of oral and dental diseases and prevention of postoperative bleeding in cases when an operative dental procedure is needed. Any invasive dental procedure requires thorough planning and consultation with the patient’s physician. The treatment should be scheduled in the morning and at the beginning of the workweek, so there would be enough time for patient’s postoperative monitoring. The risk of postoperative bleeding mainly depends on the extent of a surgical procedure and the severity of a bleeding disorder. Depending on the risk of bleeding, the dental surgery can be done as an inpatient, a day case care, or outpatient procedure.
