The human brain is the most complex organ in the body. It is responsible for our senses, which allow us to process information about the world in which we live, and for a finely orchestrated motor system that allows us to physically interact with the world. The brain also gives us an internal subjective sense of ourselves as individuals who are motivated by internal thoughts and ideas. So what happens when this incredible organ is damaged by disease or trauma or fails to develop normally? This course explores what is known about a variety of disorders affecting the brain in straightforward and understandable terms.
