Prayer Mat of Love
ظهر خون مولا به تسبیح و نماز
In the noon of the bloody day, the Master stood for prayer
در میان خیمه‌ها راز و نیاز
Among the tents for praying silently [to the Maker]
محشری شد چون وضو سازد به خون
When he performed ablution with blood, a congregation was assembled
قبله‌اش عشق است و تسبیحش جنون
His qibla is love and his praying words are craziness
کربلا سجاده‌ی مولای عشق
The praying mat of the Master of love is the desert of Karbala
روی دوشش آتشین‌شولای عشق
On his shoulder is a fiery robe made of love
قدسیان آسمانی سوختند
The holy beings in the sky were burning
چشم بر مولای محشر دوختند
They stared at the Master of the congregation

پس به تکبیر در رکوع آمد به ناز
He gracefully stooped to chant
گفت یا رب، من حسینم در نماز
He said in his prayer, Oh God, I am Husayn
گویدش یا رب ذبیح‌الله منم
He told the God, I am the sacrificed one for Allah
پاره‌پاره قطعه‌قطعه این تنم
My body is ripped apart and dismembered
هر نفس ذکرم فقط نام تو باد
Until I breathe, let my words be just your name
مست مست از دُردی جام تو باد
I’m blind drunk by the dregs of your cup
تن که ارزان است گو جان می‌دهم
I’ll sacrifice my soul, not to mention my body
هرچه خواهی تو بگو آن می‌دهم
I’ll give away whatever you ask for
هرچه خواهی تو بگو آن می‌دهم

خوانمت امروز در میدان جنگ
I’ll call to you today in the battlefield
آن زمان بارد به رویم تیر و سنگ
When arrows and stones are thrown at me
امتحانم کن که چون عاشق شدم
Test me how faithful I am in my love
بی کفن بی سر تو را لایق شدم
I met you without a shroud, without a head
مهر تو گردد به جان من فزون
I’ll even be more steadfast in my love for you
چون ببینم کودکانم غرق خون
When I see my children covered in blood
کو قیامت تا تماشایم کند
Where are those boasters to see my performance
کو توانی تا که حاشایم کند
What powerful [ruler] can deny me
