Despite the fact that Developmental Dysplasia of the Hip (formerly known as Congenital Dislocation of the Hip) has been a well-known clinical entity, since the age of Hippocrates, it still represents a field of strong scientific interest and conflicting opinions. Depending on the differing definitions of the disorder and the various methods and techniques of diagnostic approach, there is still strong dichognomy among medical scientists about what is the appropriate way to deal with the clinical or imaging findings of hip dysplasia.
