This compact book is intended to provide students of STEM subjects entering university with the foundation level understanding of mathematics they will need for their studies. Based upon an introductory mathematics for engineering module delivered by the author, it will refresh and extend what first year students must know and seeks to unify the knowledge and approach to the subject of students from different countries and educational backgrounds. In this way it will support students to make a successful transition from school to university—a change which many find challenging.
