This book outlines a very successful applied improv course I’ve taught to MBA candidates since 2000. It’s arranged sequentially with the activities described, for both groups and individuals, generally building on each other. The plan evolved out of improv courses I taught for stage performers.
You don’t have to be an MBA student to understand or benefit from this book. You don’t have to be a student, technically speaking, at all. Throughout the book I’ve used “participant,” “player,” and “student” interchangeably, and you can substitute “colleague,” “subordinate,” “people,” “comrade,” “peon,” or whatever suits your needs. Regardless of the terminology, I hope that all sorts of professionals (I’ve worked with a very wide range of them) can benefit from the book.
