Preface
The student or engineer who looks beyond a first course in Keplerian orbital mechanics soon encounters the field of orbital perturbations and Lagrange’s planetary equations. In modern texts, these equations (for the time-varying orbital elements) are often presented without proof and with a pronouncement that the derivation is provided elsewhere—often in sources that are out of print.
