زهی باغ زهی باغ که بشکفت ز بالا

praise the garden, praise the garden blossomed from divine

زهی قدر و زهی بدر تبارک و تعالی

praise the holy night praise the full moon blessed & ascendant

زهی فر زهی نور زهی شر زهی شور

praise glory, praise light, praise ardor, praise passion

زهی گوهر منثور زهی پشت و تولا

praise the gem of a poem, praise love and affection

زهی ملک زهی مال زهی قال زهی حال

praise home praise wealth, praise the past praise the moment

زهی پر و زهی بال بر افلاک تجلی

praise feather praise wing over skies of Almighty emanation

چه ذاالنون چه مجنون چه لیلی و چه لیلا

whether Majnoon or Jonah, whether Leilly or Leila

چه سلطان و چه خاقان چه والی و چه والا

whether a king or a monarch, a procurator or a superior

چو بی‌واسطه جبار بپرورد جهان را

as he created the universe all in his own might

چه ناقوس چه ناموس چه اهلا و چه سهلا

whether a church bell or a minaret, here is your abode

گر اجزای زمینی و گر روح امینی

whether you‘re a particle of the earth or the holy spirit

چو آن حال ببینی بگو جل جلالا

when you behold the ardor say “praise the almighty”

گر افلاک نباشد به خدا باک نباشد

if the heavens are extinct; no dread no sadness

دل غمناک نباشد مکن بانگ و علالا

conceal, don‘t you lament

فروپوش فروپوش نه بخروش نه بفروش

cover up, cover up, don’t rage, don’t roar

تویی باده مدهوش یکی لحظه بپالا

you’re the divine wine, purge your soul at this moment

خمش باش خمش باش در این مجمع اوباش

be silent, be silent amongst the lowly

مگو فاش مگو فاش ز مولی و ز مولا

speak neither about the creature nor about the creator
