Environment—as examined in environmental economics—can be defined as the outside world in the context of things surrounding us and those interacting within and between the surrounding environment, including ourselves. Furthermore, the condition of our environment is affected by various external factors around us, such as the quality of air and water and the types of biodiversity. If the surrounding air and water are polluted, the environmental condition is considered bad, while if they are clean, it suggests that the environment is in good shape. Similarly, an environmental problem often implies that the surrounding environment is polluted or posing harm to living organisms and that the environment is deteriorating. In this context, the objective of environmental economics is to provide critical information and plans for solving environmental problems.
