Anatomy and physiology are the studies of body parts and functions in relation to human beings. Biomaterials are synthetic or natural nonindigenous materials that are used in biological systems to augment, treat, and cure various physiological functions. Here we elucidate different biomaterials used in the anatomical systems and how those materials react to the human body and vice versa. We will also explore established and future prospective of biomaterial types/design considerations/ characterization and synthesis, to guide students and academics alike in understanding the relations of material science and the human body. We will explain complex body functions in a level that non-clinicians can understand and create a synergy with all related sciences involved in biomaterials.
