Intelligent systems are machines, hardware or software that process information by examining their environment through data acquisition and data analysis to achieve a specific goal. Data is around us everywhere. Intelligent systems make use of these data to solve complex problems. Modeling and analysis of these problems are done using mathematical tools. Hence the mathematics of intelligent systems and data science is an emerging area of research. In September 2022, from September 15 to 17, leading experts from all over the world gave lectures in the international conference on Mathematics of Intelligent systems and data science held at Rajagiri School of Engineering and Technology, an autonomous institution, in India. Around 200 participants contributed their research findings in the areas of fuzzy logic, probability, dynamical systems, topological data analysis, fractals, graph theory, and mathematical morphology. This volume contains selected contributions of the conference. Providing readable surveys, it can be used as a reference book for researchers working in these areas. The organizers would like to thank the management and Principal of Rajagiri School of Engineering and Technology (Autonomous), Cochin, Kerala, for the inspiration and support provided to conduct the conference.
