It has also been highly advantageous in prediction of risk fac­tors at genetic level for some of the most common chronic ailments and therefore plays a key role in preventive medicine. During the years to come, Biotechnology, aided with latest technological advancements and research modalities, is expected to penetrate deeper into the field of medicine not only for general prevention and treatment of diseases but also for customized treatment approaches for various dis­eases, depending upon the genetic background, environmental influences, lifestyle, and so on. These advancements will revolutionize the field of medicine and also pave the way for still greater advancements in the field.
